Privacy Policy
Short version: these tools run in your browser, we don't sell your data, and the only things we collect are anonymous usage analytics and — if you choose to give it — your email address for our weekly tips.
Who we are
This site, Oikos Free Host Tools, is operated by Oikos Property Ventures. You can reach us at hello@oikospropertyventures.com.
What the tools collect
The calculators and the furnishing checklist run entirely client-side in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored on a server. The furnishing checklist saves your checked items in your browser's local storage so your progress survives a reload — that data stays on your device and you can clear it anytime by resetting the checklist or clearing your browser storage.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools and pages are useful, in aggregate. This sets cookies and collects standard, largely anonymized usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and which outbound links are clicked). We use this only to improve the site. You can opt out with a browser extension such as Google's Analytics Opt-out, or by blocking analytics cookies.
Email signups
If you subscribe to our weekly tips, your email address is collected and stored by Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp), our email provider, and used only to send you short-term-rental tips and occasional updates from Oikos. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. See Mailchimp's own privacy practices for how they process subscriber data.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link may set cookies controlled by that retailer. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails anytime via the link in any email.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser to opt out of analytics.
- Reset the furnishing checklist to clear locally-stored progress.
- Email us to request deletion of your subscriber record.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
